First and foremost, the quality of mullite is one of the key factors determining its service life. High‑quality mullite features a uniform microstructure and a dense texture, making it highly resistant to environmental degradation. In contrast, inferior mullite is prone to cracking and spalling, which significantly shortens its lifespan. Therefore, when selecting mullite, it is essential to choose products of proven reliability to ensure long‑term performance.
Secondly, the installation and maintenance of mullite also significantly affect its service life. During installation, care should be taken to avoid excessive impact and collisions that could damage the material. At the same time, proper support and secure fixation of the mullite should be ensured to enhance its stability. In routine maintenance, the surface of the mullite should be regularly cleaned to remove dirt and dust, preventing long-term accumulation that might lead to discoloration or degradation. Additionally, acidic or alkaline cleaning agents should be avoided to prevent corrosion of the mullite.
In addition, the service environment of mullite also affects its service life.
